When summer comes, ice cream is a massive hit for both adults and children. Of course, you can go to stores to buy it, but your taste is limited, and many of the additives in it are considered unhealthy and, therefore, will never be beneficial to you. An alternative to shopping at the store is to make ice cream at home.

Almost everyone loves ice cream, but many do not realize that it is very easy to make. No fancy tools are required to enjoy this delicious homemade ice cream. You don’t even need that much time because the recipe I’ll be sharing will take less than 15 minutes!

To make ice cream, you usually need a machine and custom ice cream cups. If the mixture is not left in motion while freezing, ice crystals form inside, giving the ice cream a grainy texture when eaten. You might have experienced this texture when re-freezing a can of thawed ice cream; about a million miles away from the smooth surface it should have.

The secret that makes it easy and fast

The secret to regular ice cream is to follow the traditional custard recipe that does not require stirring. To do this, we only need to use heavy cream in the mixture and not use milk. This way, we can only throw the mixture into the freezer to freeze. This means no more worry and fuss!

For this recipe, you only need four ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream, 1.75 ounces of granulated sugar, 2 egg yolks, and 1 vanilla pod.

Recipe

The first step is to slice the vanilla lengthwise on a plate and scrape the inside of the seeds with the spoon’s handle. You will need to set the seeds aside on a plate where we will need them later.

Then we take the pods and mix them in a saucepan with cream and sugar.

Put a frying pan on medium heat and stir the mixture until it gets hot. Once it boils, reduces the heat and beat the egg yolks in a bowl.

Slowly pour the mixture into a bowl of yolk, and beat together. Add the seeds and continue whisking until the mixture is covered with vanilla seeds. Pick up the vanilla beans and transfer the mixture to the freezer.

Finally, all you have to do is put the mixture in the freezer for 2-3 hours, and you are done! Delicious homemade vanilla ice cream made in just 15 minutes!
